On 18th October 2022, we went to an exhibition called « sortie d’usine à Nantes » in Passage Ste Croix to visit a place dedicated to the industries in Nantes like BN, Saunier Duval, Waterman, Saupiquet, Chantelle, LU…, accompanied by two of our teachers, Mrs Small and Mr Dumont.
The aim of the exhibition was to show the daily life of the workers of the 1960’s /1970’s in Nantes and the magnificence of the Cité des Ducs at that time and to transmit this former history to the new generations.
Indeed, nowadays, some industries have left and moved to other countries .
We also walked in the streets and saw the houses of ship owners along Quai Turenne.
In front of these buildings the river Loire was previously flowing along.
Then we continued to the memorial of the triangular market because Nantes was a port, trading with Africa and America (cocoa, cotton, spices, slaves…)
We spent a good time together !
